Charity Bibs

As part of our ongoing efforts to raise money for the National Park Foundation, we’re offering the option to register with Charity Bibs for the Zion Half Marathon! Please note that registering for a charity bib is a serious commitment.

To get one of the charity bibs you will need to raise $1000 through our registration system. 100% of the money raised will go to our partner the National Park Foundation! Once you sign up for the charity bib, you’re committed to raising all of the $1000, so please do not take this lightly.

HOW IT WORKS: First, you’ll register for a charity bib– just select the “charity bib” option when you register for the race. Once you have completed registration you are on the hook to raise $1000. You have until March 14, 2017 to get donations from friends and family. You’ll be provided a link to send anyone where they can donate and contribute to the $1000. If by March 14, you are short of the $1000, you will be charged the remainder. So, for example, if you raise $900 by the March 14, you will be charged $100. If you raise $1000 or more, you will not be charged anything.

Your race registration is also included in your charity bib registration, so you’ll be asked things like preferred shirt size, hydration method, etc.

We’re excited about this opportunity to raise additional money for the National Park Foundation and to do some more good for the parks!

Is there a wait list for possible open slots from cancelations?
Are there still Charity bibs available?

    • Kaelee Clifford on August 15, 2016

      Hi David,

We don’t have a waiting list, but a lot of times runners who can’t make it to the race will try to sell their bib. Usually after the full refund is no longer available, we’ll see people start posting bibs for sale. The best place to look for a bib is on our Facebook page, Zion Half Marathon, and the Facebook event page for the half marathon.

There are still charity bibs available.

If i have a team of 5, is the 1000 to be raised per person or a team effort?

    • Kaelee Clifford on August 22, 2016

      Hi Mary,

Each individual runner will need to register for a charity bib and raise $1000. When the $1000 is raised, the registration fee will then be waived for that runner. Also, to be counted as a team, you will need to have six runners. If you have any more questions, you can email me at info@vacationraces.com.

Are there any charity bibs left?

    • Kaelee Clifford on December 12, 2016

      Hi Elisabeth,

The charity bibs are sold out. Your best bet at getting into the race at this point is to find someone selling their bib. Usually after the full refund is no longer available, January 1st, we’ll see runners start to sell their bibs on our Facebook page, Zion Half Marathon.
